The purpose of the Joint Planning Commission is to provide for planning related services for Hamilton County, and the villages of Giltner, Hampton, Hordville, Marquette, Phillips, and Stockham. It is responsible for the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, administration of the development review process, and administration of land use regulations established in the zoning and subdivision ordinances.
The joint planning commission includes seven members who represent the County and are appointed by the County Comissioners. It also includes one member from each of the villages who are appointed by the respective Village Board.

The Joint Planning Commission meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the 4-H Building, Hamilton County Fairgrounds, Aurora, NE. If you have an interest in serving on the Joint Planning Commission, please contact the Zoning Administrator for more information.
